Empower Head of Households

At Ignite Change, we work with and empower the head of household. This promotes dignity and restores their place as provider.

Not only does this method keep the family balance, it is more cost-effective. Instead of sponsoring each member of the family for every year of schooling, we make sure the head of household has an income and can feed their children and send them to school.

Don’t Give Hand Outs

Billions and billions of dollars in aid has been given to the continent of Africa. Where is the impact of this money? You won’t find much. Only people waiting around for their next food ration or other hand-out.

As an organization, we “teach a man to fish” by taking our group members through months of training. Members learn how to save and start businesses through their own hard work.

Walk Alongside Group Members

The individuals we work with are limited to 40 members in one group. This group becomes a family through the weeks of being together for classes. They care and look out for each other. A close bond is also made with our staff. Members know they can call our staff with any problems or concerns.

Our staff checks up with members at their homes and offer individual and family counselling if needed. We also monitor the businesses members start and provide guidance as needed.

Working to be Self-Sufficient

Not only are we empowering families to be self-sufficient, we as an organization are working to be self-sufficient.

We started an activity of hosting football (soccer) matches. This is not only a funding opportunity for Ignite Change, but it also advertises our vocational school and other services.

Our first match was held on October 9, 2023 where we had almost 2,000 people attending!

Similarly, there will be a business for each skill offered at the upcoming vocationalschool. For example, there will be a restaurant for our culinary students to gain practical experience. These businesses will also offset tuition costs and make the school affordable to anyone.
